Tension and release

Chicago-based DJ and producer compil3r builds melodic house, progressive and melodic techno sets around tension and release — patient, groove-led journeys that reward a room willing to go somewhere with him. Recognizable by his purple hair as much as his selections, he has spent four years turning that approach into a steady presence on Chicago's melodic scene.

He has opened for internationally touring acts MONIC (Lost In Dreams), Massane and Qrion, and has played Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Jamaica. Since 2025 he has run Pour Over Progressions, a monthly daytime series at Magnífico Coffee Roasters that has become a fixture for Chicago's melodic community, and for three seasons he founded and organized Techno Harbor, a Leave No Trace beach party on the Chicago lakefront.

As a producer, compil3r has released a run of remixes and edits across 2025–26, reworking Lana Del Rey, Oklou, Miike Snow, DJ Seinfeld and Magdalena, alongside monthly melodic/progressive mixes and his original single "Quasar". Ranked in the top 1.5% of Twitch streamers, he produces hybrid events that put an in-person crowd and a global livestream audience in the same room.
